Brian's ProfileBrian is working through his sixth decade, has been married to Dianne since 1990 and has the two most wonderful children.
His business experience includes seven years in the Mortgage industry, 21 years experience in direct sales, retail sales and management in both small and major retail stores. The lack of support to given to small business by government has been integral in his decision to run as the DLP candidate for Throsby. Brian is determined to give small business support and opportunity for growth. Removing bureaucracy, removing taxes that disadvantage small business and creating a climate of confidence are part of Brian’s plan for Throsby. Creating a sense of worth and gainful employment for Throsby voters is vital to building a strong community. As a long term resident of the Illawarra, Brian values the positive impact volunteering has on his community. Brian has maintained an active involvement, as a professional speaker and presenter, with local charities helping to raise awareness and prevention of such things as cancer and suicide. He also volunteers with Red Cross Emergency Services during time of disaster like severe bushfire, floods etc. and also worked with the Kosovo temporary refugees in East Hills during that country’s 1999 crisis. He also served as a volunteer chaplain with Illawarra Area Health Service. One of Brian’s great joys is helping and encouraging others to become the best that they can be. He believes that he can further do this by working at federal government level to assist small to medium business owners, prospective business owners and community leaders to become the best at their profession by removing some of the obstacles placed in front of them by the current system.
